What does "without running scripts" mean?
Most AI tools read the HTML your server sends. They don't run JavaScript or click buttons, so anything that only appears after a script runs, like many booking widgets, is invisible to them. Some newer AI agents can operate a browser, but you can't count on it. If your site works without scripts, it works for every AI tool.
Which pages do you look at?
Your homepage, robots.txt, sitemap, and llms.txt; a listings or search page; up to three property pages; up to two policy or FAQ pages; and the page your Book link leads to. We also request your homepage the way two AI bots identify themselves, to see whether a firewall turns them away. We don't crawl the whole site, log in, or submit anything.
I don't want AI companies training on my content. Will blocking them hurt my score?
No. We separate the bots that look things up to answer questions (OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot, Claude-SearchBot) from the ones that collect training data (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended). Block the training bots if you like. Only blocking the answer bots counts against you.
My booking engine built my site. Can I still fix these?
Usually. Most fixes are a robots.txt edit, a block of structured data, rates and policies written on the page, or a booking link that takes dates in the address. The fix guide spells out each one so you can send it to your booking engine's support team or your web person.
Can you check whether my details match Google and the OTAs?
Not yet. We look at whether your name, address, and phone are stated clearly on your own site. Matching them against your Google Business Profile and OTA listings is worth doing by hand, and the fix guide tells you what to compare.
